On a quick trip, give the entire area — including Sorrento and Naples — a minimum of three days. With Sorrento as your sunny springboard, spend a day in Capri, a day exploring the Amalfi Coast, and a day split between Pompeii and the town of Sorrento. Mount Vesuvius, Herculaneum (an ancient Roman site like Pompeii), and the city of Naples are perfect options, they are worthwhile only if you give the area more time.
From Sorrento Guest House it is possible to reach all thheese places very quickly with local transportation. From the port (reachable with a lift in just 2 minutes) it is possible to catch the ferry or the hydrofoil, so you can reach the isle of Capri in 15/20 minutes or the main center of Naples in only 40 minutes. The train station and the bus station too are 10 minutes walk from the Guest House, from there it is possible to catch the train to reach Pompeii in 35 minutes or the Sita Bus to reach Positano in around 1 hour. From the train station it is also possible to catch the shuttle bus Curreri to reach the airport of Capodichino in around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
